Middlesex wins the Metro Bank One Day Cup after 36 years of doubt following a 31-run victory over the Foxes

Middlesex ended a 36-year drought by winning the Metro Bank One Day Cup, defeating the Leicestershire Foxes by 31 runs in a final at Trent Bridge. Ryan Higgins scored a century in List A of 115 runs, supported by Harry Duke (55) in a 135-run stand at the sixth wicket, which enabled Middlesex to go from 71-5 to 231 all out. Ian Holland took 5-36, Ben Cox took five catches. Nick Kelly scored 103 (107 balls) for the Foxes, who responded at 79-5, but were eventually all out for 200. Tom Helm took 3-32 in the final over. Toby Roland-Jones took 3-27, Naayva Sharma took 20 wickets, the highest wicket total of the competition. Duke, on loan from Yorkshire to replace Joe Cracknell, provided support to Higgins before he was dismissed by a top edge, narrowly avoiding long-on.
