David Alaba is close to moving to Serie A. According to information reported on Wednesday by Fabrizio Romano, the 34-year-old Austrian player has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Udinese.
Udinese, currently placed in mid-table in the Italian league, would therefore be Alaba’s intended destination. The transfer specialist says the Austrian international has given the project his approval.
However, the deal has not yet been finalised. Formal details still have to be settled, along with the required medical examinations.
Alaba has been without a club since his contract with Real Madrid expired last June, after five seasons. That status allows him to join a team despite the closure of the transfer window.
His former Real Madrid team-mate Dani Carvajal is also a free agent. However, no information has been communicated about what comes next for him.
