Pablo García hopes to “score a few goals against Betis”. The under-21 international said that in his first match against his former club, he would try to score two goals or more, even if it meant apologising to the stands afterwards.

The player explained that his summer departure from Real Betis had been agreed with the club. He had been with Betis since pre-benjamin level.

Pablo García also addressed the tears shed by both himself and his mother when he left the training ground. He described that period as difficult for everyone, especially his parents. While reiterating that Real Betis is the club closest to his heart, he said he wanted to keep the good memories.

According to him, his departure was decided in the final hours of the transfer window and stemmed from decisions made by all parties, including himself. He added that the emotions resurfaced once the move was confirmed and that he did not want to hide them.

“The club agreed and so did I,” he also said, referring to a stage he had to go through. He admitted that the moment he realised he had to pack his bags had been particularly painful.

Looking ahead to a Racing-Betis match, Pablo García said his first aim would be to score several goals. He stated that an apology could be made to the crowd if necessary, while repeating his ambition to score. He does not rule out a return one day, but believes there is no need to discuss that for now: he wants to give everything for Racing.
