Ceballos would trade many of his titles for a trophy with Betis

“I would trade many of my titles to win one with Betis,” Ceballos said. The midfielder joined Manuel Pellegrini’s team in the closing stretch of last summer’s transfer window.

The return to Betis, nine years after his departure, ends years of rumours and signs pointing to a possible comeback. Now the aim is to fulfil another dream: lifting a trophy with the team.

In a preview of an interview with PTV Sevilla published on social media, the player also stressed the need not to rush. “But I think we have to go step by step, set the direction we want to take properly and, from there, when we get to February, March or April, we’ll see where we are and whether we can do great things,” he said.

He spoke about the Copa del Rey, which his teammates experienced several years ago. “Talking about it with teammates, many say they had never experienced anything like it. I haven’t had the chance to experience it, but I hope that in these three years we can win a trophy,” Ceballos added. The midfielder hopes the team will reach the closing months of the season competing for important objectives.

Kieron Bowie’s 7th-minute goal got Scotland moving and gave Sébastien Pocognoli his first goal as manager. John McGinn later scored his 22nd goal for his country from the penalty spot, but missed chances and Scott McKenna’s late sending-off kept Scotland from having a fully comfortable evening.
