Carpena fills up for the Cavaliers of Harden

Carpena was packed for the Cavaliers of Harden, as nearly 10,000 people attended the public scrimmage that closed the Cleveland Cavaliers’ training camp in Málaga. The gathering on October 4, 2026, stood out as a special day for basketball in Málaga and offered further grounds for the event to hold a prominent place on the national scene.

Fans in the stands got to see James Harden, Donovan Mitchell and Mario Hezonja on court, in an unusual occasion for the city. Málaga CF was also represented. Joaquín Muñoz and Adrián Niño used their day off to visit Carpena and watch the Cavaliers train in person. Harden opened the scoring with a three-pointer, one of the moments that drew the loudest reaction from the crowd.

These weeks are important for Hezonja in Cleveland. His contract does not guarantee that he will remain with the team, which could part ways with him before November 15. People close to the player have not ruled out the possibility that his time in Cleveland could become a stepping stone to Europe.
