Mariano kisses a fan in the Dominican Republic after she asks for a photo

Mariano was greeted like a rock star in the Dominican Republic: after a fan approached to ask for a photo, she surprised him, and the encounter ended with kisses. The clip went viral several days after the match, putting the forward in the spotlight during the international break.

Mariano Díaz has grown particularly close to supporters of the Dominican Republic national team, where he is one of its leading figures. He scored twice during this international window. The incident took place after Friday’s Nations League match against Haiti. Mariano stopped to attend to the supporters, some of whom were wearing shirts bearing his name.

Another detail associated with him is a goal for Deportivo Alavés, listed at 2-0 in a match presented with a 5-2 score against OsasunaSportian.

In the footage of the encounter with the fan, Mariano initially appears bewildered. The moment ended in laughter, as attention quickly shifted to the area around the stadium after the match.
