Marseille face to a depleted squad and selection doubts for Troyes trip

Olympique de Marseille are preparing for their trip to Troyes with a crowded treatment room. Injuries sustained during the international break could complicate Bruno Genesio’s selection for Sunday’s match, which closes the sixth round of Ligue action at 20:45. The OM coach is also coming off a three-week international break, but that has not ensured a fully fit squad.

Amine Harit’s condition is uncertain because of knee pain. Geoffrey Kondogbia, meanwhile, has been absent since 30 August with a muscle injury. Timothy Weah will not be available against Estac: after being sent off against PSG, he is suspended for the fixture.

Marseille have already tested one option in their preparations. On Saturday, in a friendly defeat to Montpellier, Bruno Genesio used Ulisses Garcia as the right wing-back, the position occupied by Weah. Will that solution be repeated at Troyes? Settling on the lineup is shaping up to be difficult, while Keyliane Abdallah and Faris Moumbagna could start in Aube.

OM are therefore set to begin a run of four important Ligue matches against Troyes, Angers, Le Havre and Toulouse with a depleted squad. The absences could make Genesio’s task harder, provided the injuries in question are confirmed.
