Málaga will face Sporting de Alcázar in the Copa del Rey. Monday’s first-round draw, held at the Salón Luis Aragonés de la Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas, paired the Málaga side with Sporting de Alcázar CF.
The match will take place at Sporting’s ground in Alcázar de San Juan, in Ciudad Real province. Málaga will therefore travel for a tie that will be decided over one match. The home side play in the Primera Autonómica Preferente de Castilla La Mancha, a division below their opponents.
That difference in level also determines the venue: Sporting will host Málaga. The draw means the Andalusian club will begin its cup campaign away from home against a team from a regional division. With the tie settled over a single match, the outcome will immediately decide which side continues in the competition; Málaga must win on the opposition’s ground to progress.
Málaga CF now know their first opponent in the 2026/27 Copa del Rey. The draw took place at the headquarters of the Real Federación Española de Fútbol, the competition’s governing body.
