Five Algerian clubs face winter transfer registration bans

Five Algerian clubs appear on FIFA’s list of teams barred from registering new players. Three of them compete in Ligue 1. The restrictions could prevent them from making signings during Algeria’s next winter transfer window, scheduled from 1 January to 1 February 2027.

Chabab Belouizdad faces a ban covering three registration periods following a sanction recorded on 25 September 2026. Chabab Constantine is subject to four separate decisions, entered between 29 September and 2 October 2026; each also provides for a three-period ban.

Two other clubs are affected by a three-period measure. Mostakbal Baladiat Rouissat has two decisions against it, dated 17 September and 2 October 2026. For Chabab Amal Aïn M’lila, the ban was recorded on 12 August and is listed as in force until it is lifted.

A club’s presence on FIFA’s list means it cannot register new players until the sanction has been served or officially lifted. However, resolving the financial or legal situation could allow the affected teams to regain that right before the transfer window opens or while it is underway.

The situation follows an earlier wave of restrictions: last July, the Algerian Football Federation said that 27 clubs across different levels were affected by recruitment bans. It said no registration could take place until the situation had been fully resolved and the measure officially lifted.
