Celta are the team that have conceded the fewest goals away from home in LaLiga, with just one goal against them on the road. That sole strike came at Getafe, scored by Martín Satriano. The other two away fixtures, against Valencia and Real Sociedad, both ended goalless. Celta have therefore avoided defeat away from Vigo in LaLiga this season, drawing all three of their away matches.
That defensive solidity has come alongside away results broadly in line with those at Balaídos, where Celta have recorded practically the same figures. The team comes into this period after a 5-0 victory over Racing de Santander before the break. It still needs to pick up points to improve its position in the table at the start of the season.
The current run extends a trend from last season, when Celta were among the championship’s best away sides, collecting 31 points away from Vigo. That was the club’s best away tally in its history in the top division, and eight points more than it earned at Balaídos.
Claudio Giráldez’s team will try to keep that run going next Sunday in Elche.
