Inter confirmed on Thursday that Curtis Jones, who joined the club last summer, has suffered an injury. The news is a blow for team coach Cristian Chivu. Tests carried out on the English midfielder at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano revealed a myofascial issue in the adductors of his right thigh, linked to a muscle injury in the thigh. His condition will be reassessed in the coming days.
The 25-year-old is expected to be out for between three and four weeks. Inter paid Liverpool 30 million euros for his transfer last summer.
Not selected by Thomas Tuchel for England, Jones stayed to train at La Pinetina in Appiano Gentile during the FIFA international windows. Nicolò Barella is the leading candidate to replace him in Inter’s starting eleven for Saturday’s Serie A match against Parma.
