Achraf Ben Ayad says Joan Laporta will bring Lionel Messi back to “Spotify Camp Nou”. In an article published in Mundo Deportivo, the journalist argues that the FC Barcelona president has an opportunity to move past his dispute with the former player through a historic tribute once the stadium renovation is complete. In Ben Ayad’s view, the ceremony could help restore relations between the two sides.
Ben Ayad describes Laporta as an intelligent man who wants to be appreciated. He believes the president still wishes to end the rift with Messi, even if he remains silent about it. For now, he writes, both sides are holding firm to their positions.
The journalist connects that possibility to a tribute paid to Messi in his country “a few days ago”. He believes the event may have led Laporta to consider staging a similar ceremony, or an even greater one, at Spotify Camp Nou once the renovation is fully finished.
Ben Ayad also notes that FC Barcelona are enjoying what he calls their best results and that supporters are very satisfied with the players who joined the team this season. In his view, the club deserves to rebuild its relationship with Messi and give its members the chance to offer a historic welcome to the player he calls the greatest in football history.
