Xavi Simons has announced a new project as he continues his recovery. He suffered a serious knee injury in April during a match against Wolves, towards the end of the season with Tottenham, and left the field in tears, aware that he would miss the World Cup. His return is not expected before February 2027, with several more months of recovery ahead. He explained the new direction on LinkedIn.
The midfielder has been admitted to Harvard Business School’s online Crossover Into Business programme. Among his aims are to learn more about the commercial side of sport and to learn from people working across different sectors.
“Football remains my priority, but I also want to keep learning and developing away from the pitch,” Simons wrote. The move adds a new focus during his recovery without changing football’s place in his ambitions: he intends to use this period to broaden his horizons while keeping a return to playing at the forefront.
