Barcelona have extended Xavi Espart’s contract until 2030, the club announced on its official website. The decision follows strong performances by the player under Hansi Flick early in the current season.
The agreement will keep Xavi Espart at the club until 30 June 2030. “An agreement has been reached to extend Xavi Espart’s contract with Barcelona, so that he can continue his career until 30 June 2030,” the club said.
The statement added that both parties still have to sign the contract officially at the club’s offices. Joan Laporta will be present, after which Xavi Espart will speak to the media.
Promoted to the first team, Espart had joined the La Masia academy in the summer of 2015. He made his debut for Barcelona in March 2026 against Newcastle United at St James Park, in the first leg of the round of 16.
