Mahrez’s participation is conditional on him reaching full physical and mental readiness. The technical staff intends to manage him cautiously and protect him, while recognising the importance of including him in the team squad.
For the match scheduled for next Monday in the AFC Champions League Elite, Brats said the decision on whether Mahrez plays would depend on an assessment of his condition in the final training sessions. He hopes the player will be fully prepared to make his first appearance in an Al Shamal shirt. Brats is also counting on Mahrez’s experience to improve the group’s performances and help the club achieve its ambitions. His involvement is therefore not presented as certain: it remains contingent on his assessed condition as the match approaches.
Mahrez’s assessment in the coming sessions could therefore weigh on the decision, even as his integration into the team is considered important.
