Gerard Deulofeu scored only twice for Barça. Both goals came in October, three days apart: the first against Málaga in a La Liga match at Camp Nou, the second in Murcia in the cup. The caption for the Barça-Real Murcia match places that game in the 2017-18 Copa del Rey.

The goal in Murcia came at the end of an individual move. In his match report, Ferran Martínez described Deulofeu beating three opponents before finding the net from a tight angle, sending the ball beyond Santomé. Marc Cucurella also played his first minutes in a blaugrana shirt in that match, late on, with the outcome already decided.

The first goal was controversial. Joan Poquí wrote that it “should never have been allowed”: after a combination with Iniesta and an initial cross cleared by Rosales, Digne crossed when the ball had completely crossed the line. Deulofeu then finished with his heel as Málaga’s players protested.

A product of La Masia, Deulofeu made his Barça debut in 2011, given his opportunity by Pep Guardiola. His career was later shaped by loan spells, a lack of continuity and a serious injury. Those two goals remain the only ones associated with his time in a blaugrana shirt.
