Marchal is not part of Real’s 24-man squad for the match against Deportivo. Pellegrino Matarazzo has included Héctor Fort, whose availability had been uncertain in recent days because of a knee problem.
The Catalan defender took part in a second consecutive session with the group on Saturday. He had missed the friendly derby against Athletic after taking a knock to his knee, then spent a week away from full team training. The uncertainty at the position had grown following Aramburu’s injury.
Matarazzo did not turn to Garro, the Sanse full-back available for promotion to the squad. The absentees also include injured players Odriozola and Aramburu, as well as the suspended Orri Óskarsson.
Álex Marchal is also left out, despite not travelling with Sanse to Vigo and taking part in the day’s training session at Zubieta.
