Ahmed Suleiman believes Zamalek’s attack could carry significant weight against Al Ahly on Sunday, October 11, in the sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League. The Zamalek board member also highlighted Al Ahly’s failure to replace Wessam Abu Ali, a Palestinian, with a centre-forward offering comparable goalscoring ability. He acknowledged, however, that the club has quality players out wide who can unsettle opposing defences.

Suleiman voiced confidence in Zamalek’s ability to win, arguing that its attacking strength could prove decisive. He also praised Zamalek’s defensive line, which includes Mahmoud Bentayg, Mahmoud El Wensh, Omar Gaber and Mohamed Ismail. By contrast, he believes Al Ahly’s attack has yet to reach the expected level. “Al Ahly’s attack has not yet reached the expected levels,” he said on MBC Masr, while praising the performances of the four defenders.

Before the meeting, Zamalek sit second on 13 points, having recorded four wins and a draw in five matches. Al Ahly are third on the same total and with the same record, but with one fewer goal. Suleiman also sees Al Ahly’s range of options in several positions as an advantage, while, in his view, Zamalek benefit from stability in their team and starting players. He believes Zamalek’s attacking ability can break through the opposition defence, and that making the most of it could swing the match.

The game will be held at Cairo International Stadium on Sunday evening, as part of the sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League in the 2026-2027 season.
