Bayern Munich shared the points with Augsburg in a 2-2 Bundesliga draw on Saturday. The visitors made the worst possible start: Augsburg scored after just 8 seconds, following a serious error by goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. It was the fastest goal in the history of the German league. Three goals were also disallowed during the match.
Bayern responded after the break. Ismael Saibari levelled the score at the start of the second half, but the home side quickly moved back in front. Rodrigo Ribeiro restored Augsburg’s lead after another controversial decision by Neuer. Bayern eventually avoided defeat, but could not take all three points.
The result leaves the teams sharing a 2-2 draw in a game whose course was shaped by Augsburg’s lightning-fast opening and the disallowed goals. Elsewhere on the day, Union Berlin earned its first league win of the season by beating promoted Elversberg 1-0. Stuttgart won 2-0 away to promoted Paderborn, with Jeff Chabot and Chris Führich scoring.
