Izan Guevara capitalised on the setback suffered by Escrig to tighten the world title race. Manu González worked his way through the field to finish second, while Holgado claimed a podium place after being involved in an incident at the start.
The first start was chaotic: Guevara held the lead, with Escrig close behind. Further back, Holgado hit his teammate David Alonso from behind under braking.
Before heading to the grid, Izan gestured to Escrig that they should go there together. At the second start, with all the riders on new tyres, Escrig got past Guevara. Holgado moved into third, ahead of Ortolá, while Manu González gained two places to reach seventh.
The chasing group then saw a series of overtakes. González passed Arbolino and Dani Muñoz; Holgado responded by getting past Ortolá, and Muñoz also moved ahead of Manugasss. Seeing the battles unfold, Manu passed the Italian and pulled away from the group as Holgado and Ortolá had closed in behind the leading pair.
González later overtook Ortolá between turns 9 and 10, then passed Holgado in the same section. Despite González’s recovery to second, Escrig’s setback gave Guevara the chance to close in on the world title race.
