La Laguna Tenerife dominated UCAM Murcia Club Baloncesto 90-77 in Murcia, with Marcelinho Huertas directing the visitors’ performance. The Brazilian point guard scored a game-high 19 points and posted the best evaluation, with 24 credits in 22 minutes and 41 seconds on court. He also delivered five assists. His display helped La Laguna secure a convincing win, as the visitors proved superior overall in a meeting between two teams aiming to compete in the Copa del Rey.
The game began with an unsettled spell. Michael Forrest, in the starting line-up for the home side, was sent to the bench after just four minutes, with the score at 2-5. La Laguna then extended its advantage: after an Arturs Kurucs three-pointer, the score stood at 5-14 and play was stopped for a timeout.
The home side responded in stretches, raising its intensity to close the gap to 55-60 and then 57-62. But La Laguna regained control and finished the period nine points ahead at 57-66, scoring the final two baskets, including a Jaime Fernández lay-up at the buzzer. Later, five consecutive points from Kyle Guy, including a three-pointer, followed by four from Héctor Alderete put the visitors ahead 63-77 with a little over five minutes remaining. Pansa fouled out when the score was 65-80.
The game ended 90-77. After three rounds of Liga Endesa, La Laguna has two wins and one loss, while UCAM Murcia has one win and two defeats.
Howard Sant-Roos played in the game and made his season debut after recovering from the injury he had been carrying. Souley Boum remained unavailable. Juani Marcos also left the court with discomfort after playing just six minutes.
