The Mavericks beat the Rockets in Macao, where the two teams split their wins at the 2026 China Games. Sergio De Larrea had a strong influence on the game in this preseason meeting, posting a +34 plus-minus for Dallas.

The point guard is enjoying an outstanding preseason. In his first game with Dallas, the opening meeting of the series, he scored 11 points and handed out six assists despite his team’s defeat. In the second game, he scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds. The Mavericks won that contest 132-117.

The games are being played outside the United States and do not count toward the regular season, but they offer a useful glimpse of De Larrea’s adjustment. His style appears close to the game played in the NBA, while Dallas has a player able to score, create for teammates and contribute on the boards, with a positive impact on the team.

The Rockets also had Marcus Smart, who scored 20 points, and Reed Sheppard, who added 17. Across the two-game series, the Mavericks’ win in Macao underlined De Larrea’s influence in a preseason setting.
