CS Sfaxien announced on Monday that it had ended its contract with Nabil Kouki and his assistant technical staff following a surprise defeat against recently promoted Taqaddom Sakiet Eddaïer. The club has thus parted company with its coach after the loss.
Taqaddom Sakiet Eddaïer is playing its first season in the top division and, alongside CS Sfaxien, represents the Sfax governorate in the competition.
The club said it would announce the new technical staff for the first team at a later date. No successor was named in the announcement.
The change comes with CS Sfaxien sixth in the Tunisian league on 8 points after 5 rounds, 4 points behind leaders Espérance de Tunis. Kouki’s departure also comes only days before the expected away match against Académie Diallo next Saturday, the first leg of the second preliminary round of the African Confederation Cup.
