“I don’t think Isaac did anything wrong,” Lucien Agoumé said of the player’s dismissal. The French midfielder admitted after the match that he had not understood the decision against Isaac and said he wanted an explanation from the referee.

In the 95th minute, Isaac Romero had put the visitors back in front before gesturing for the crowd to be quiet. Adrián Cordero Vega then showed him a second yellow card. Down to fewer players, Sevilla went on to concede the last goal, scored by Ifeanyi Ndukwe, for a final score of 3-3.

Agoumé criticised what he saw as a dismissal for celebrating: “The problem is that the referee sends off a player for a celebration. I had never seen that before.” He added that Isaac had celebrated his goal as he always does and that he hoped to receive an explanation for the red card. In the closing minutes, he said, Levante attacked heavily before equalising.

Sevilla had taken a two-goal lead through Robbie Ure and Félix Correia. Iván Romero and Adrián Dela brought Levante level, before Isaac Romero’s goal and the late equaliser. Sevilla therefore earned its second away draw of the season, against Levante.

Agoumé also lamented the missed chances and the quick equaliser conceded after the team’s second goal. “These are two points lost, given how the match went,” he said, arguing that his side had made too many errors in the second half to win in Primera División. At Ciutat de València, the draw took Sevilla to 14 points from a possible 24. The Frenchman concluded that his team would continue to compete in every match and that, in his view, its points had been earned on the pitch.
