Paul Rowley has been confirmed as the new head coach of Castleford Tigers after signing a three-year deal with the club. He takes over following the departure of Australian Ryan Carr, who left for personal reasons two months earlier.

“I’m looking forward to leading Cas Tigers as their new head coach,” Rowley said. He added that meeting Chris Chester and the board had immediately made the club feel like a place he wanted to join, and said he was keen to begin the new journey.

Chester said he was “absolutely delighted” to welcome Rowley and described him as a highly respected figure in rugby league who could lead the club into a new chapter. He also raised the prospect of further recruitment in the weeks and months ahead. “I’m looking forward to working closely with Paul as we continue to strengthen the squad, develop our young talent and create a culture that delivers sustained success,” he said.

The appointment comes after a difficult Super League season for Castleford: the club finished second bottom, with eight wins from 27 games.
