Athletic begin the week without Nico Williams, Laporte and Sancet

Athletic began their training week without Nico Williams, Laporte and Sancet. None of the three joined their teammates on the pitch this morning as Edin Terzic prepares for next Saturday’s trip to Mestalla. The club is still waiting to have three of its most prominent players back.

Their absence from the session follows a situation also seen last weekend: none of the trio was included in the squad for Saturday’s match at Vallecas. Their availability for this weekend’s meeting with Valencia remains uncertain. It is still too early to know whether any of them will be able to play. For now, Terzic is preparing for the away fixture without their return to training.

Maroan and Canales also arrived at the morning session later than their teammates. Terzic led the work on the pitch. Young Imga, who had been called up to the first team for last Saturday’s match at Vallecas, did not take part.

At this stage, today’s training provides no indication that any of the three absent players will be back for the game against Valencia. Their situations remain worth monitoring as Athletic prepare for the trip to Mestalla.
