Toto Wolff was spotted in Monaco driving a Mercedes Unicorn valued at $10 million. A few days after the Singapore Grand Prix, the Mercedes-Benz executive was making his way through the streets of the Principality in a silver CLK GTR, in footage shared on Instagram.
Even in Monaco, where Bugatti and Ferrari cars are commonplace, the CLK GTR is hard to miss and brings traffic to a halt. The model is a road-legal car designed to meet the FIA rules required for its racing version to compete in the 1997 FIA GT Championship. To enter that version in competition, Mercedes-Benz had to build a small batch for public customers.
Production was limited to 28 examples in total: two prototypes, 20 coupes and six convertibles. With the United States Grand Prix approaching, Wolff appears to be unwinding behind the wheel of an exceptionally rare and powerful car, rather than settling for an ordinary break at Casino Square.
