Before their trip to Seville, Porto received some good news. The club travel to face Real Betis with a 24-player squad for Wednesday’s Champions League league-phase second round.
At the final training session, Francesco Farioli was able to welcome back Nehuén Pérez, Zaidu Sanusi and João Costa, who had been dealing with physical problems. All three trained normally and are available for the match.
The returns are particularly significant for Farioli, who is short of natural centre-backs. Bednarek is suspended, while Smalling and Prpić are not included on the European list. Newly recovered, Nehuén Pérez therefore gives the coach another option in the centre of defence.
The travelling party also includes two reserve-team players: defender Luís Gomes and midfielder João Teixeira. The three goalkeepers named in the squad are Diogo Costa, Cláudio Ramos and João Costa.
