Anis Hadj Moussa says he was affected by the failure of his move away from Feyenoord Rotterdam during the last summer transfer window. The Algerian winger says he has since put the episode behind him and is focused on his club in the Netherlands.
His name was first linked with interest from Premier League clubs before Al-Ittihad emerged as a serious option. The transfer appeared close, but ultimately did not happen. “When I was close to joining Al-Ittihad and the transfer then fell through, it was painful for me and for any player’s morale. The period was mentally difficult, but a few days later I had completely turned the page; I am now 100% focused on Feyenoord and giving everything I have for the team,” he said.
Hadj Moussa also said he took the initiative to apologise to the coach and his teammates at the training ground. “I spoke with the coach and my teammates at the training ground and apologised for what I did during that period. Things have returned to normal within the group,” he said.
The comments come after he received the “Player of the Month” award, having contributed to 5 goals in 8 matches since the start of the current season. His contract with Feyenoord runs until the summer of 2030. His market value stands at 28 million euros according to Transfermarkt’s latest updates.
