Jagoba Arrasate led his first training session since returning to Osasuna, with one confirmed absence: Aimar Oroz is unavailable because of an injury. The coach was back on the pitch at Tajonar for an open training session, the first of this new spell in charge of the team.
Arrasate watched the drills and his players’ movements closely as he took charge on the field on Thursday. Preparations are already under way for the match against Racing de Santander, scheduled for Sunday, October 18 at 14:00 at El Sadar. Kike Barja, meanwhile, trained individually because of muscular discomfort and remains a doubt for the game.
The team go into the match after five league rounds without a win and currently sit 16th with 8 points. Arrasate has little time to put his ideas into practice, but he already knows many of the players from his previous spell in Pamplona.
Aimar Oroz’s absence is a significant setback for Osasuna: the club will temporarily be without a player whose quality and ability to create play could prove important. Arrasate has three sessions left to continue getting to know the team and prepare for his first match of this new spell, against Racing at El Sadar.
