Real Madrid have taken the lead in the race for JJ Gabriel, but Barcelona have not given up on the Manchester United youngster. Both clubs have discussed a possible move, and Madrid’s offer is particularly appealing to the player’s camp.
Gabriel’s representatives believe they made the right decision in seeking a move away from Manchester United. Leaks from inside Old Trafford concerning the player strengthened their view that he should consider his future away from the English club. United’s leadership, meanwhile, has continued discussions in an effort to retain one of Europe’s most sought-after young talents. Gabriel’s camp remains determined to explore opportunities outside Manchester.
The competition is not limited to the two Spanish clubs: Bayern Munich have also held discussions about Gabriel. Sources indicate, however, that the German club is not prepared to match the financial offer made in Spain.
Last summer, Chelsea were leading the race among the English clubs interested in Gabriel. The club had received indications at the time that the player was leaning towards a move abroad. The contest therefore remains open, despite the particular appeal of Real Madrid’s proposal.
