Liam Rosenior has not been sanctioned by the LFP disciplinary commission after celebrating Paris FC’s victory in front of the away section in September. His behaviour, which sparked clashes and angered supporters, earned him only a warning.
In its weekly report, the body said it had issued the warning following the Ligue 1 match on September 19, which Paris FC won 2-1 against RCSA. The warning was therefore the extent of the disciplinary response, despite the tensions caused by Rosenior’s celebration.
After the match, the coach described his gesture as “a message to a small group of people who never wanted me to succeed at this club”. He also said that a small section of Strasbourg supporters had shown disrespect towards his family. The match had been briefly interrupted after insulting chants.
Rosenior then stressed that he was distinguishing those supporters from the club as a whole: “But I want to be very clear: it is only a small part.” He also praised Strasbourg as “a fantastic football club, with great people who work there and support it”, while reiterating that his celebration was aimed at those who, in his view, did not want him to succeed at the club.
