Imga and Laporte will be in Valencia, where Athletic are due to play at Mestalla on Saturday. Thursday’s training session confirmed that Christian Imga, a youth international who was already called up against Rayo, will be included in Terzic’s squad again. The young winger is set to strengthen an attack expected to be without Nico Williams once more, as he continues his recovery from an injury to the left thigh’s rectus femoris. Laporte, meanwhile, will be in the squad after missing the previous trip.

Terzic had been waiting to learn whether Laporte would be available: on Friday, he had to withdraw him from the squad because of an indisposition. For the match against Rayo, Djaló took the place opened up by his absence. He had not been named in the initial squad after suffering a flu-like illness earlier that same week.

Two days before the return to league action against Valencia, Berenguer also took part in training. He had previously completed several sessions of individual work. Nico and Sancet remain outside group training, with injuries to the rectus femoris and soleus respectively. Last Friday, Terzic said he hoped Nico would return to training this week, while Sancet would need more time.

Neither player is expected to feature in the upcoming match against Valencia. The staff hope to have Nico back for the following fixture, against Getafe at San Mamés on October 25; Sancet’s return is being targeted for a longer-term timeframe.
