The organising committee for the 2027 Asian Cup has issued a statement confirming that preparations for the tournament are continuing. The finals are due to take place in Saudi Arabia from January 7 to February 5.
The committee says work is progressing in line with the approved schedule, across organisational and operational areas. Preparations include the availability of facilities, equipment and related services. The stated aim is to provide a comprehensive experience for participating teams, supporters and media from different parts of the continent.
The confirmation comes after a possible postponement had previously been raised. Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim, president of the Asian Confederation, had said that moving the 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia remained an option if circumstances required it. The committee’s current statement says preparations are continuing according to the planned timetable.
