The main rules for the next Women’s World Cup in Brazil have been announced. The regulations presented by FIFA set an arrival schedule for teams and specify the number of players to be included on their lists.

Teams must reach the venue for their matches at least three days before their first game. The requirement applies to Sofía Bermúdez’s team as well as the other participants in the final tournament.

The process also sets out two stages for squad selection. Each team must submit a provisional list of 24 to 35 players to FIFA, including at least four goalkeepers. The submission must include an identification photo and a copy of the passport for every player listed.

The final list must contain between 23 and 26 players, with at least three goalkeepers. The rules therefore establish both the timetable teams must follow before the tournament and the administrative requirements for preparing their squads.
