Barça’s intermittent staff have announced a strike for the Clásico. The three-day action is scheduled to run from 00:00 on Friday 23 until 06:00 on Monday 26, after the Liga match against Real Madrid, due to be played on Sunday 25 at 21:00 at Spotify Camp Nou and shown on DAZN.

The staff concerned provide the operational support required on match days. They cite a gradual deterioration in working conditions, a shortage of personnel to meet specific needs and inequalities within the group. The strike committee representing FC Barcelona’s intermittent staff also points to unfulfilled agreements, contractual irregularities, discrimination among colleagues, breaches of the collective agreement and a gradual reduction in staffing, while some services are being handled by outside companies. It says this is making services more precarious, reducing the ability to respond to incidents and harming the welcome offered to members and fans.

Sources at FC Barcelona say operations will not stop «under any circumstances». The contrast between that assurance and the strike notice puts the running of the weekend’s matches at the heart of the dispute.
