Saudi journalist says Salem Al-Dawsari’s Al-Hilal spell will end

A Saudi journalist says Salem Al-Dawsari, Al-Hilal’s captain, will bring his spell with the club to an end after the current season. He links that outcome to the arrival of a new player in the next summer transfer window. In another account, the journalist casts Humam Al-Hamami as the player who would close the Al-Dawsari chapter at Al-Hilal.

Abdulaziz Al-Muraisil told “Nabd Tuwaiq”: “Humam Al-Hamami will join Al-Hilal and bring the Salem Al-Dawsari file to a close.” Earlier reports had said talks between Al-Hamami and Al-Shabab over a contract renewal had stalled without an agreement, while several clubs were interested in him.

Al-Muraisil also said Al-Hilal supporters’ backing would shift from Al-Dawsari to Al-Hamami, whom he considers deserving in light of his contribution to the Saudi national team.

The sporting backdrop cited is Al-Dawsari’s absence from Al-Hilal since the start of the current season. He underwent surgery while participating with the Saudi national team at the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The journalist also pointed to competition in his position: Al-Hilal signed two foreign left wingers, Crysencio Summerville and Gabriel Martinelli, making the “Tornado’s” return to the pitch more difficult.
