Córdoba beat Leganés at Butarque with a goal from Eder García in the closing stages. The win was Córdoba’s second away success in the competition. Leganés, meanwhile, suffered a fourth consecutive defeat and have won just once in their last seven matches. Reduced to ten men after Morata’s dismissal, they extended their difficult run.

The sides went into the break level. Leganés had looked more assertive early on, with attempts from Rubén Pulido and Soko, while Percan registered Córdoba’s first warning. Before the interval, Luca Zidane conceded a free kick near the edge of the area after getting into difficulty with the ball, but Córdoba failed to make their planned set-piece routine count. Just before the break, Percan and Eder García also tried their luck as Córdoba finished the half more strongly.

After the restart, Percan tested Luca Zidane with a chance created by Carracedo’s pass. The goalkeeper then made another good stop to keep out a powerful effort from Isma Ruiz. In the closing stages, a move by Carracedo set up Eder García, who found the net with a curling shot from inside the area.

In added time, Morata received a second yellow card for protesting and was sent off. Damián came close to taking advantage of Leganés’ numerical disadvantage to make the Córdoba win safe.
