Liverpool are planning to recruit Johan Manzambi in the next winter transfer window. The English club are looking to strengthen their squad and have targeted the Swiss midfielder at Aston Villa, according to British media. The move is therefore being reported as a recruitment plan, not a completed transfer.

Aston Villa’s position could make the deal difficult. The club value Manzambi as an important member of the team and do not want to part with him during the current season. He is contracted to Aston Villa until June 2030, giving the club a strong position in the face of any approach.

Team Talk reports that the Reds’ hierarchy regard Manzambi as one option for strengthening their midfield as they prepare for the second half of the current season. The link fits with Liverpool’s reported wish to add depth in that area, but the information describes a target rather than an agreement.

Manzambi joined Aston Villa in the last summer transfer window from Freiburg. His name is now among those attracting Liverpool’s interest ahead of the winter window. Any attempt to recruit him would have to contend with Aston Villa’s determination to keep him and the length of his contract.
