“Tomorrow is a day to show our best side, win and keep our good run in LaLiga going,” Matarazzo said before Real’s trip to Málaga. The coach warned that the match would not be easy, despite his opponents’ position in the standings. He said past poor results against teams near the bottom should serve as a reminder that his side will have to give everything to take all three points.

Matarazzo also stressed that Málaga must not be underestimated. He wants his team to perform at its best and pointed to the energy the stadium can give the home side. “Málaga have few points, but they are a LaLiga team; their stadium is usually full and gives them a lot of energy,” he said. He wants his players to be quick and aggressive, without becoming complacent. Matarazzo acknowledged that his team has shown contrasting sides and said tomorrow is an opportunity to display its best.

The coach also discussed the run of fixtures. After Thursday’s Europa League match, he underlined the importance of next week’s trip to Lillestron. In his view, that game will help determine the value of the point earned on Thursday against USG: “If we win, then the point against USG will be a good point.”

Yangel will not be available in Málaga because of discomfort. Matarazzo said he would call on one or two Sanse players. He praised Gorrotxategi’s performance on Thursday, highlighting his mobility, balance and defensive work, and urged him to keep it up.

Héctor is an option to play the following day, the coach said after speaking with him. On Orri, Matarazzo said an ambitious player can be frustrated when not selected, while making clear that he remains important to the team. He expects Orri to play more minutes than he did in the last two matches.

Real’s immediate aim is to sustain their good LaLiga form without being misled by Málaga’s position. The following week’s European fixture will then help shape Matarazzo’s assessment of Thursday’s result.
