Carvajal named in squad to face Rayo

Carvajal has been selected for Getafe’s match against Rayo Vallecano. New arrival Dani Carvajal could play his first minutes for the club, although a starting place is not certain: José Bordalás has not ruled out starting him, but he may instead wait until the second half. The coach said the player was “ready.”
The match is scheduled for 21:00 at the Coliseum. It offers both teams an important chance to move up the table in pursuit of their season objectives. Carvajal’s arrival, intended to strengthen the right-back position, adds particular interest to the fixture.
The player also spoke about his international ambitions. “I will never give up on Spain,” he said. He also said he had had opportunities to play in the Champions League.
Getafe come into the game after opening their European campaign with a draw against Universitatea Craiova, secured by a goal from Nemanja Gudelj. The team also faces several fitness concerns: Enes Ünal and Orel Mangala have muscle problems, Iván Azón missed the match in Romania with physical issues, and Zaid Romero is unlikely to feature after being injured against Barcelona. The doubts could force Bordalás to make further changes to his lineup.
Getafe’s attack is another point of focus. After eight rounds, the club has scored only four goals. Sergio Camello, a Rayo Vallecano forward, has seven on his own—three more than Getafe’s entire squad. Rayo, meanwhile, has come through another week in which off-field matters have dominated its news. It will also be without right-back Andrei Ratiu, who remains unavailable with muscle problems, and defender Luiz Felipe, whose anterior cruciate ligament rupture in his right knee is expected to rule him out for practically the rest of the season.
