Mercedes has unveiled a special blue livery for the United States Grand Prix. The team will race this weekend with a W17 whose usual silver has been replaced by blue, in a collaboration with MANUFAKTUR, the brand’s personalisation programme. The nose of the car puts the new colour particularly on show.

The livery is part of a wider visual presentation. George Russell will wear a vintage-inspired blue race suit, while Antonelli will have one in steel blue. Each driver will also use a matching Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. The team’s garage at the Circuit of the Americas will receive a MANUFAKTUR makeover as well.

The programme allows Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG and Mercedes-Maybach customers to personalise their road cars with bespoke paint, materials and handcrafted finishes. In the United States, about half of the cars Mercedes sells are ordered with at least one MANUFAKTUR feature. The racing livery gives that personalisation business a prominent showcase.

Team principal Toto Wolff has also described Austin as an important weekend away from the track, with several commercial activities planned across the city. “The United States Grand Prix begins another demanding triple-header,” he said. Mercedes had already run a special livery at one of the two preceding races, making this its second in three events.

On track, Kimi Antonelli could clinch the Drivers’ Championship as early as Sunday if he wins, provided George Russell finishes outside the top eight and Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton is not among the top four. Mercedes has also confirmed that both Russell and Antonelli will have the latest-specification car for the United States Grand Prix.

Antonelli finished third in the race during the Sprint weekend in Singapore. Wolff acknowledged that the Malaysia and Singapore weekends had been difficult for his team, which had worked to understand where it fell short. He called the United States Grand Prix an opportunity to respond, while stressing the need to take things one step at a time. Mercedes holds a 134-point lead over Ferrari in the Constructors’ Championship; that margin could put it in a position to clinch the title as early as next week’s Mexico City Grand Prix.
