Barcelona leads Real Madrid in search figures ahead of the Clasico
By SportNestra Editorial Team

As the season’s first Clasico approaches, Barcelona and Raphinha lead Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappé in figures measuring online interest. The match is scheduled for September 25 at Camp Nou, on the 10th matchday of the Spanish league.
In September’s ranking of searches and information requests, the Catalan club reportedly gathered 10.6 million, compared with 7.32 million for second-placed Real Madrid. The figures give Barcelona the online-interest advantage ahead of the meeting between the teams, scheduled for Sunday, September 25. The match is billed as the first Clasico of the 2026/27 season.
The gap is also reflected in the ranking of the world’s most-searched players. Brazilian Raphinha leads with 4.24 million visits, up from 1.42 million in August. Lamine Yamal is second with 3.94 million visits, while Kylian Mbappé is fourth with 2.28 million.
The interest extends beyond the two clubs. In September, the Spanish league also topped the ranking of most-visited competitions, with 39.74 million visits, ahead of the Premier League’s 37.66 million. Atlético de Madrid, Real Betis, Sevilla and Valencia were among the teams cited to illustrate the Liga’s appeal.
The Liga standings also give Barcelona an advantage ahead of the Clasico. Kooora reports that the club is first with 27 points after nine consecutive wins, while Real Madrid is third with 21 points. SportNestra’s table also lists Madrid in third place after nine matches. Real Madrid’s record over that span is seven wins, two defeats and no draws.
At home in the Liga, Real Madrid have won all five matches, scoring 17 goals and conceding three. Away from home, they have two wins, two defeats and no draws in four games, with six goals scored and six conceded. Those figures offer a mixed picture of their league campaign ahead of a Clasico in which the popularity numbers, at least, favour Barcelona.
