The Atlanta Hawks have shaken up the NBA market by sending Buddy Hield and Ryan Nembhard in a deal that brings them Dorian Finney-Smith. The Georgia franchise is strengthening its roster with an experienced NBA player.
According to information reported by ESPN's Shams Charania, Atlanta is expected to send Hield, Nembhard and cash to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Finney-Smith. Hield arrived in Atlanta last summer in the deal that sent Kristaps Porzingis to the Golden State Warriors, but the guard played only seven games for the Hawks last season.
Hield now has a $9.5 million contract for this campaign, along with a player option worth more than $10 million for the 2027-28 season. Finney-Smith, meanwhile, is under contract for three years and $53 million. He joined Charlotte from the Houston Rockets at the start of preseason.
Ryan Nembhard, a 23-year-old point guard who was not selected in the Draft, arrived in Atlanta as part of the three-team trade involving Zaccharie Risacher and Luguentz Dort. Last season, he averaged 6.6 points and 5.3 assists in 19.5 minutes per game.
Beyond the Los Angeles team's game, the Rockets knocked off the Thunder, while the Warriors are worrying an entire conference in turmoil.
