His remarks come amid the controversy surrounding the withdrawal of San Mamés invitations intended for former presidents, players, former players and club employees. He believes that if the club has needs that everyone can understand, they should be presented, discussed and debated in order to reach conclusions.
Guerrero says he is convinced that former players will not cause any problems. He notes that not all of them played in the First Division or have the same financial circumstances, while those who did reach that level are probably club members and would not face this difficulty.
He also highlights the social work carried out by some former players, including attending matches, visiting hospitals and helping people in need, without receiving anything in return. In his view, giving them an invitation to attend a match should therefore not create a difficulty; if the situation is explained to them and discussed with them, he does not foresee a problem.
Raúl García also argues for the need to talk, but declines to go further, saying that he does not know the matter well enough. He believes that the noise generated outside does not help and says he cannot give an opinion without risking being wrong.
It was also stressed that much of the information is missing and that, in football, what is made public is often steered towards an interpretation that usually leads to error.
