Hugo González has returned to training with the Celtics. The 20-year-old Spanish player nevertheless caught the attention of the Boston media because of a substantial bruise visible on his arm.
The former Real Madrid player explained that the mark was simply the result of a heavy fall during the qualifying phase, in the FIBA windows Spain played against Denmark and Georgia. Across those two games, he said he averaged 12.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals.
González had already caused something of a stir during the postseason, when reports emerged that the Celtics did not want to include him in the trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Antetokounmpo ultimately joined the Miami Heat.
