Etihad criticises Manchester City and challenges the Premier League’s communication

Etihad has criticised Manchester City. The link between Etihad and City dates back to 2009.

In a statement, Etihad said it categorically rejected any investigation, conclusion or implication suggesting its involvement in improper commercial agreements.

The Premier League said that the public communication around the commission’s investigation, following a period of selective leaks, had caused harm to Etihad, even though the airline was not mentioned in that report.

Etihad added that it was very concerned by the way the matter had been communicated publicly, arguing that the lack of clarity and transparency, as well as the selective disclosure of information, had harmed it. The airline said the Premier League had to bear the consequences of how the investigation had been presented.
