Formula 1Lewis Hamilton backs Fred Vasseur while questioning Ferrari’s structure
Lewis Hamilton defended Fred Vasseur while saying Ferrari’s structure may need to be reviewed. He also called for the team’s work to be protected from negativity.

Vasseur's reportedly signed for Just.
In the earlier context, Horner won against PR. Ferrari voted Hamilton.
Lewis Hamilton believes Fred Vasseur is the man capable of taking the team in the right direction. In Kuala Lumpur, ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, Hamilton said Fred had full backing.
He stressed that several people had been replaced in Fred's role, while describing him as an excellent leader. In his view, Fred has led the team, contributed to changes over the past year and helped it reach second place in the constructors' championship.
For his part, Horner said he had spent 21 years on the pit wall and did not need to return there. He added that, at this stage of his life, only one team would make him accept non-participation in ownership.
Ferrari was described in a statement as Formula 1's biggest brand, a dream and a “sleeping giant” of the discipline. “We are not working in perfect serenity,” it was said.
Another statement described the situation as frustrating and said that Mr Horner was looking for a job everywhere.
Hamilton also described the atmosphere of negativity surrounding Ferrari as frustrating. He noted that other mistakes attracted fewer comments.
“We either make the same mistake or are not perfect, and we know that,” it was said, before adding that the reaction was 10 times stronger for Ferrari. That pressure was presented as to be expected for the most iconic brand.
It was also said that a structure had been in place for a long time, that changes could be made, without specifying their nature. Finally, Toto's position was described as different from Fred's, as was the structure.
