Shaw and Manchester City share the points with Real Madrid in the Women’s Champions League
The Guardianabout 1 hour ago2 views
Shaw drew with Real Madrid in the Women’s Champions League, as did Manchester City. City had also shared the points with Bayern Munich in the competition.
Before the match, Andrée Jeglertz said the women’s team was carrying on as usual, despite the guilty verdict issued by the Premier League against the men’s side. His comment placed the match in a week when the club had been in the headlines for unwelcome reasons.
In the stands, an elderly City supporter said matter-of-factly: “We’ve been through difficult times before, and we’ll get through them again.” Another person reacted angrily to a question about the 115 charges, asked, “Are you from the media?”, then walked away after using an expletive.
