FootballJosé Herrera joins Manchester United’s coaching staff
The Spanish coach becomes an assistant to Eva Olid at Manchester United. He arrives after guiding Atlético de Madrid to fifth place in the Liga and to the Copa de la Reina final.

“What is happening with Cristiano is a disgrace; some coaches don’t respect things,” Arturo Vidal said about Cristiano. The former FC Barcelona player, who has faced the Portuguese star many times, defended him on his Twitch channel.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Portugal’s camp has prompted opposing views. Some understand his anger and decision following Jorge Jesus’s remarks; others believe that, even without a starting place, he should have stayed with the group as captain and a member of the team.
Arturo Vidal strongly criticised the way the matter was handled. “For a player like Cristiano, who is among the four best in history, to leave the national team like that is very unfortunate. Especially after he gave an interview, explained what was happening and laid out the options, only for the coach to come out and say that,” he said.
The Colo-Colo player added that the handling of the situation “makes the coach look very bad” and that those involved “are getting it very wrong”. In Vidal’s view, Cristiano deserves support and protection: he gave everything for Portugal and raised the national team to another level. Vidal concluded that Cristiano had the right to do as he wished and offered him his full backing, saying that “some coaches don’t respect things.”
